Arnaud Chastaingt, director of Chanel’s watchmaking creation studio, set out to channel the pulsing club vibe of the ’90s electronic music scene (driven by acts like Technotronic) and developed the neon theme across Chanel’s watch pillars – from J12 and Première to Chanel Code Coco.
“In the nineties, this musical movement created a radical new visual universe, which could be described as eccentric, a reflection of nightlife and its atmosphere,” Chastaingt said in a video introducing the new models. “Electronic music transcended the frontiers of music and created an aesthetic culture.”

The Chanel Code Coco Electro watch, a limited edition of 255 pieces, comes as an exhilarating shock in neon pink quilted calfskin leather with black trim and lining. The distinctive cuff watch design is modeled on the iconic 2.55 handbag with its toggle-style locking clasp. The central case is divided into two black lacquered squares – one for the dial and the other set with a single princess-cut diamond.
